Building Your Profitable Business List

Your business list is critical to the successful development of your business. All the successful "gurus" have lists that they market to and will agree that their databases are one of the main keys to their success.


Your business list can be built by these 3 methods.

Your website: Here are some ways to capture email addresses by offering your visitors something free.
· Email courses
· Reports
· E-books
· A newsletter


Email courses: These can be 5-7 days in length. Find any hot topic that your specific market will be interested in, write a good-sized info tips article and break it down into 5-7 sections. Make each of these sections a lesson. Put your disclaimer at the top and a small ad for your product, services or subscribing to your newsletter at the bottom and you are ready to go.


Reports: Again write an info article on a hot topic in your market. This time expand your article with more details and resources for your reader. The report should be at least 6 pages in length.


E-books: You can either write your own or get resale rights to one, or get one ghost written. This should again be on a highly interesting topic that your visitors will enjoy.


A newsletter: This is one of the best and most effective methods for building your list. Make sure that you publish a quality publication, with good informative content and less advertisements. Treat your subscribers well and they will become your loyal long-term customers. This may take 3 months or even as much as a year but your subscribers will come to trust you and when they do will buy from you.


Direct marketing, using your newsletter.

Ad swaps: Can be very effective. As soon as your subscribers count reaches 1000 you will be able to swap ads with other publishers. Some of the best ads to swap are ones for your newsletter.


Ads in other publications: You can also place paid ads in other publications for your newsletter. Make sure the newsletter is related to your field.

Articles swaps with other publications can be used to gain new visitors and sign ups for your newsletter list. They will attract highly targeted subscribers who will very likely become your long-term customers.


Article distribution is a very powerful way of bringing good warm ready to buy prospects to your subscriber list. If they like your article enough to click through to your site they will sign up for your newsletter and will be prime candidates for your offers.


More ways to build your list


Google Adwords is a service that enables you to reach clients looking for your services or products. Here is how it works. It is like a Pay-Per-Click advertising, You pay when a user clicks on your advertisement. You can also use.


Business Forums: you cannot advertise here but you can ask, answer questions and post articles if allowed. Always leave your little sig and website address. Many people will come to your website when you remain active at these business forums and networks.


"Refer a Friend Link" on your website. Provide incentives so that visitors will be more inclined to refer your products and services. This "word-of-mouth" viral marketing can be extremely valuable and generate future sales.


Give away free gifts like e-books and e-courses to encourage people to subscribe to your newsletter.


Make a landing page for your newsletter and point your direct marketing and Pay-Per-Click advertising to it. This will be a mini sales promotional page for your newsletter. It will briefly explain the benefits of subscribing to your publication.


Monitor your list growth for maximum effectiveness:


Check what promotions are working and discard those that are not building your list. Duplicate successes and continuously test advertising. Think of your newsletter as a product and take your list building seriously. In this way you will continue to grow and develop your list for long-term profit.


Methods that will build but not make a responsive list: MLM style list building techniques may increase your list but not gain responsive subscribers. Buying subscribers will not always build a receptive list.


A good business list is not about numbers it is about responsiveness. It is pointless to have a large list and poor response. Make sure that every advertisement and promotion for your list is pointing specifically at your market. In this way you will build a truly profitable business list.
